Seating: $35 | Showtime: 8:00pm | Rodney Crowell has chosen Linden’s Music City Texas Theater to begin a spring tour in support of his forthcoming album, Tarpaper Sky. The veteran country-Americana artist and Grammy Award-winner has a way with words that reflects his love for family, dry wit and Lone Star State sense of humor. His honors include two Grammys, an ASCAP lifetime achievement award, and membership in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Currently based in Nashville, TN, Crowell was born near Houston in 1950. He’s released 21 albums over four decades, with five consecutive No. 1 hits. Tarpaper Sky will be released on April 15. The self-produced album comes fast on the heels of Old Yellow moon, his 2013 collaboration with Emmylou Harris, which won this year’s Grammy Award for “Best Americana Album”. The new album and tour reunites Crowell with his late 80’s musical accomplice Steuart Smith, who also plays guitar with Don Henley and The Eagles.
